Rathbone Greenbank Investments has made three new hires, including an appointment to the newly created role of head of investments. David Cox has been appointed to head of investments, joining from Brunel Pension Partnership, where he was deputy chief investment officer. Meanwhile, Laura Hobbs has joined the firm as an investment director, where she will manage charity portfolios. Finally, Emma Williams has been appointed as a senior ethical, sustainable and impact (ESI) researcher, where she will play "a key role" in Greenbank's company engagement projects this year
Simon Edelsten is set to retire from his position at Artemis at the end of this year. Alex Illingworth, who co-manages the Mid Wynd trust and Artemis Global Select fund with Edelsten, will leave Artemis at the end of this month. Replacing him is Alex Stanic, who will be appointed to the newly created role of head of global equities from 1 March, though Edelsten will continue to manage the funds with Stanic to ensure a smooth handover
The CEO of Investec Wealth & Investment has left the firm after less than a year in the role. Barbara-Ann King was promoted to head of Investec's wealth management wing back in July 2022 as part of an executive reshuffle which saw the two most senior leadership positions in the firm held by women, with Ruth Leas as CEO of Investec Bank plc since 2019
Principal Financial Group has combined the firm’s asset management and pension business, leading to a reshuffle within the leadership of the asset management arm. Patrick Halter will continue as the CEO and president of Principal AM, and report to Dan Houston, chair, president and CEO of Principal. His new leadership team includes Kamal Bhatia, who has been promoted to head of global investments after having previously worked as COO of the AM wing. He will also continue to serve as president and chair of Principal Funds. Meanwhile, Thomas Cheong has been appointed president of Asia, leading client-facing functions within the region, after having previously served in this regional leadership role for Principal International. Roberto Walker has also been promoted from president of Latin America for Principal International to president of Latin America for Principal AM. Tim Hill, who previously led US distribution in the asset management arm, has now been named head of the US and Europe client group. Finally, Ellen Shumway, who is now head of global product and marketing, previously led product, marketing and strategy for asset management
