I am not what you would call a royalist, however, today marks a significant moment in my life and in the lives of all British people around the globe, not to mention those who are huge supporters of the royal family.

The passing of the Queen is a huge event globally, many have never known Britain to be anything other than a state ruled by the Queen, a woman who took the reins in her early 20’s and had ruled for over 70 years - the longest serving monarch. More importantly, the Queen was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and someone who the British people could look up to and respect. The Queen was quintessentially British and will be so deeply missed by so many.

As the Queen took her final breath today at Balmoral there was a bright and beaming rainbow overhead. Perhaps this was her way of saying goodbye and wishing us well. The Queen did all she could to help us throughout her time and she leaves us far better for it.

Thank you Your Majesty, thank you. You will always be remembered and loved.👸🏻🇬🇧
